Farmer's Market Update

Hey everyone! We will probably start selling the Carolina Bath & Body line at the Belmont Fresh Market starting in June. We've been so busy trying to keep up with the farm that we've slacked off on the soap. I haven't heard of anyone needing any soap, so I guess y'all have made it through the winter okay.

The Belmont Fresh Market is open on Saturday's at 8am until sellout which is usually around 11:30am. We are currently selling produce there as Shady Creek Farm. Last Saturday we brought beets, turnips, radishes, spring onions (red & white), and Romaine Lettuce. We hope to bring all of the above this Saturday, May 24, 2008. Also, we are planning on bringing a lettuce mix also. Not sure if we will have it bagged for you or if you will be bagging it yourself. I hope to add pictures of this new market to the blog soon.

Also, starting in June, the Gastonia Farmer's Market will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are planning on being there as well during the week. Please keep checking back to get updates. See you this weekend!

Update!!

Okay, this year has been pretty crazy for us so far. My husband will be selling vegetables at the farmer's market this year. So, things have been a little crazy around here. And, if you haven't guessed from my little widget on the right, I'm pregnant! I'm not sure when we'll start selling at the market this year. We will probably start sometime in May.

I will keep this updated as to which farmer's markets we will be attending. Keep checking back to see.

My Opinions!

I just don't understand this country. How in the world are we supposed to be a democratic society if we actually don't get to decide who becomes president. I mean, come on! I just heard on CBS Evening News about the Super Delegates. The ones that don't answer to any normal voter. I mean, they don't have to vote the way we want. I know, I must be so nieve about all this. But, I've been learning more and more about this government that is just not right. Ron Paul for 2008 is what I say. But even if he would get the majority vote, they still don't have to vote that way even when our votes say so. And every television station that I hear talk about the election seems to forget to mention Ron Paul is still in this race.

I know God has control of everything. He works in and through people. The good and the bad. Nothing happens unless He lets it happen. That's something that just settles my soul.

Enough about the government and politics, I'm so sorry I haven't posted anything in so long. Life has just been happening I guess.

My husband, his parents, and me are starting to get ready for this coming farming season. We're going to sell vegetables, free range eggs, and soaps at the Belmont Farmers market this year. Hopefully we'll be ready when they open. We won't have the eggs at first.

This will be our first year growing vegetables for the market. I can't wait. We may even start selling "shares" as a CSA next year. We have to make sure we get a lot of kinks out this year before we decide to go that route.

Well, anyways, we are going to start getting really busy. I guess I'll write more later.

Life Changing.....Tooth Soap!

Okay, I stumbled onto something extraordinary. Honestly, I really did.

My husband showed me this website, http://www.awildsoapbar.com/. It had something called Tooth Soap on it. I've been going more and more natural in the past year and I've really been trying to find some completely natural toothpaste. Well, I started reading this website where it talked about all the benefits of using this Tooth Soap. Did you know that our teeth are actually supposed to re-enamelize naturally? I didn't. And after reading the testimonials left on their website, I immediately ordered me a jar. As soon as I received it today, I had to use it. And, guess what? I absolutely love it. I mean, it is absolutely the coolest. And completely 100% all natural. So cool. Here's a website that will tell you all about natural dental care.

Okay, besides the Tooth Soap being absolutely amazing. I also received in the package a small little handout for Ron Paul for President 2008. I didn't toss it. I figured I would see what he's about. Sadly, I don't really keep up with politics. But, again with the all natural, I've been keeping up more and more with the alternative medicine things happening in the World. Well, Ron Paul is for most of the things which I take to heart. First and foremost, he's an organic farmer. That really is pretty high in my book. He is for alternative health care and wants to end forced health screening and vaccinations. I've really been hearing a lot of bad things lately about the forced vaccinations. It honestly scares me to think that our government is trying to control us that much. I'm gonna list a few links below that describe what I've been talking about. Thanks for listening. I know I've been on my soap box but it really is so close to my heart.

This discussion really lets you hear what Ron Paul is all about. Definitely worth taking the time out of your busy schedule to listen to and really have an open mind.
